This week was very special for us at Viatris. Over the past days, we have engaged with our European stakeholders as part of #EUGreenWeek 2021, which has been focused on the EU’s Zero Pollution Ambition. And June 5 marks the celebration of World Environment Day – the United Nations’ day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. Environmental and human health are interconnected. Protecting the environment is critical to our mission to empower people worldwide to live healthier, at every stage of life.

Our environmental sustainability commitments and achievements include:

• Since 2015, renewable energy use increased by 485%
• 95% of Pharmaceutical waste diverted from landfills to incineration or energy recovery facilities
• Supporting access to data on company’s efforts to combat climate change and water stewardship through our publicly available CDP reports.
• Our 2020 CDP SCORES:
  • Water Security: B
  • Climate Change: B–
• Importantly, we are working on developing a greenhouse gas emissions reduction target in line with the Science-Based Target Initiative's (SBTi) criteria.
